Alanis Nadine Morissette was born in Ottawa, Canada, on the 1st June, 1974. Alanis is the feminine version of Alan which is her father's birth name. Georgia is the name of her mother, and she has two brothers: Chad and Wade. She was able to play the piano when she was 6, and guitar at the age of 21. Alanis released a hit single from 1986 that was titled Fate Stay With I (b side: Find The Right Man). To be specific, during her time in Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis (in 1991) and now Is The Time in 1992. She relocated to Toronto at the age of 18 and started working with music and writers, but these collaborations did not work. In 1994, she finally discovered the perfect partner in the producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who had collaborated with several musicians, such as Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson and Barbra Streisand.
